The 300 Whisper and BLK are not designed to do what the M14/M1a can do.
I have been shooting the S&W M&P15T upper in 300 BLK/300 Whisper for a few months now and am impressed with how it does what it is designed to do.

300BLK over whisper, more available for it.

Your 300 BLK chamber will fire either round safely.
