The wifes away. I'm in the shop. H1000 is on back order, at 3 shops. I've got the time, and IMR 7828. 168, 180, and 208 amax, for my TRG-42. All I need is some "good " info, that I can't find in the book, for 180s, and 208s. Help?

I would start out at 73 or 74gr. and work up. I don't have experience with this powder, but I would guess the max would be at around 77-79gr.

i dont know anyone who uses that powder. For a 300winmag, stick to the big 3. H4831SC, R22, and H1000

70.5-73 r22. 210 vld. H4831 works great on bullets - 200 grains in my experience. I shoot the 208 amax w/ 72.9 r22 and get 2930-2935 fps. Shot three weeks ago at 1200 yards and had 11" group on target. Also my hunting load is 72.7 r22 210 vld in the lands. Many good choices. H1000, retumbo, r22, r25, imr4350 works great on 178 amaxs. Guess it boils down to what your stick likes

Thanks for the help! I couldn't find any H1000, at my 3 local stores, so I finally called cabelas, out of desperation.Had some "free time" and 7828. Now a "Dumb question", cause I'm a little OCD. Is Reloader 22 what "all you guys" call RL-22. Seems logical, but I don't "assume", when my face is that close to a potential mistake.4350 isn't "cuttin the mustard".

I am not in my reloading room a this time.so I am going to say with 7828 with a 200gn + bullet I would start at around 68-70gn's.my reason for saying this is because I load a 220gn SMK with 7828 with a 68.5gn charge in my 300wm.
