I'm going to put together a rifle, .308 cal. I have some questions though, and I'm sure I'll have more so I was trying to get some advice on what will work together and wont and everywhere else I went for answers has been hit or miss, mainly miss so here it goes.
1. I'd like to use a Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist A5 Fully Adjustable 2098 long action stock.
2. I'd like to use a JP Original Fire Control Kit
3.Harris Engineering S-BR Hinged Base 6 - 9-Inch Bipod
4.UAG Pro QD 30mm Low Profile scope mounts
5.4-14x56 2nd Generation Government Model scope.
6.Snowy mountain muzzle brake
7.The Browning A-Bolt II
The biggest thing I need advice on is a barrel, I hear 308 barrels are hit or miss and I can't find a barrel with consistent reviews. Also I love the JP products but I believe it's only for the DPMS LR-308, and if that is the case can I use it with the stock that I listed in #1. I have friends who are very experienced machinists and collectively we have a good deal of tools and such so machining wont be a problem, I just need to know if what I have so far will work? Sorry if this sounds "noobish" but hey, have to start learning somewhere.
