Range Report .308 berger 155.5 gr full bore

can anyone explain what they mean by full bore
I bought some berger 155.5 gr match BT marked full bore bullets on the box

I know VLD but full bore ?
but there is something I know they shoot bug hole in my TRG22

FULLBORE is a type of international competition that limits the weight of .30 caliber bullets to less than 156 grains, hence 155.5.

There's also a .22 cal 80.5 grain FULLBORE bullet for the .223 (max weight in that caliber is 81 grains).

Also note: Berger already had a 155 VLD and a 155 PALMA bullet so they needed a different name, and all 3 remain available.

Berger doesnt use the PALMA name on their bullet anymore, but I believe the 155.5 is it, just called FULLBORE now. Copyright or trademark issues, I believe. Still the same great bullet though.

LOL,i was just going to suggest you head over to 6MMBR and check out the new article on the 308 fullbore ammo being built by brian litz' company applied ballistics. this appears to be very accurate ammo, built by a guy who can shoot.--cam

My M1A still doesn't like them... Anyone want to buy a partial box, or trade 6.5mm 140 A-Maxes, Varget or H4350 powder (yeah, yeah, pickup only), .30 178 A-Maxes or .30 175 SMKs for them??

I edited in the meantime...I have reason to prefer the powder or 6.5s...wasn't thinking all the way through at first. Sometimes have to try to convince the Wife of "better late than never.."

Please LMK and I'll get a count.

Also have more than 50 Lapua 155s, same problem with several loads, several powders, 1:12 twist...

Thread drift...the 80 Berger Fullbores are spoken for unless there's a 6.5mm 140 A-Max offer, but for only 24 hours. Then they're gone.

I also have 76 Lapua 155s that don't work from my rifle either, except for two groups out of...whatever, that was the LAST box of 'em. Same for old Sierra 155 SMKs, they were consistently not good except for the rare "teaser" group, but I used them all up.
