Thanks for the heads up on Cabela's. Just got some too. $169/500ct.

Re: .308 brass

Does it make a difference who the manufacturer is? I see Lapua and Norma going for double the price of Winchester and Remington. Does the more expensive brass offer any real benefits?

Prevailing wisdom has Lapua with much longer life and more precise dimensions. Supposedly no need to deburr the flashole either but I just can't help myself as it is only needed once anyway! Since I started annealing I think the premium for Lapua is less relevant for me and even steeper now.

Re: .308 brass

lapua is the best brass no doubt about it however i have bought winchester and after all the usual case prep and anealing i have had better accuracy out of it than lapua but not by much but if you sum up what it costs for the equipment needed to aneal lapua is cheaper

Re: .308 brass

Black Hills uses the Winchester, and it makes up most of my .308 reloads with no complaints at all. Even some of the current production Corbon is using the Winny stuff! Got some of their heavy 190's in Win brass to try out.... Have had good luck with the Lapua, LC Match & Winchester, but you can tell the difference when working with each of them... Mostly LC for my .223 loading, but I try to stay as close to the 62 grn SS109 as much as possible.
