All: just running in a new barrel (18" 1:10) and would like any real world data on any of the above combinations. I've never used the IMR 4895 so have zero experience of it. To date have been a Vihtavouri fan. However the Vit is not giving me joy with this barrel so time to ring the changes. Approx coal is 2.830 just shy of the lands.

Most loads so far have been mediocre including the tried and tested 175smk/N140 combo.

Aim is for 2450fps with this bullet. 180 should approximate the old MKVII .303 brit round in trajectory etc.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Regards

straight from the nosler page

44.5 grains, 150 accubond, 2800FPS out of my R25 with a 20 inch tube. Runs great and prints .5 MOA. .5 inch grid on this target. 3 shots

I don't have my notes in front of me but IIRC I settled on 41.5 grns loaded to 2.811 COAL. I also use moly and they clocked around 2600 FPS out of a 22 inch 1/10 AR-10T. I only shot them out to 200 yards but 1/2 MOA performance is what I got out of them. Great bullet....

I don't use the 180 grain bullets you use but have used 4895 for 30 years and have found my most accurate loads regardless of the bullet weight used were in the mid range loads. I use 168 gr SMK's in my 308 TRG22 and my most accurate load is 38 grains of 4895. My brother in his 308 SPS Tactical's most accurate load is 40 grains of 4895. I tried from 37 grains to 42.5 grains in 0.5 increments.
