New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Just wondering if someone could post some load data for how far their .308 can stay supersonic. I know the usual is about 1100, but does anyone have load data to show supersonic speeds past 1300 or 1400 (under I assume near perfect conditions).
This is DOPE from my 17" .308 1:10 Krieger firing a 208 amax @ 2500
Goes subsonic at 1200+, I've seen guys pushing the 208 up to 2700 out of their long barrel 308, that would put supersonic flight out to 1400 at sea level.
I am just starting out to LR shooting and don't know very much. So far my rifle and I have only been up to 400 yards. I'm wanting to see what rounds are capable of staying supersonic at those distances, and because I don't reload or know how, I was hoping someone on here could provide some data.
That, and a few people I know don't believe it can stay supersonic out to 1350 or 1400, so I'm trying to give them proof it can.
