Hey guys,

First off Happy and healthy New year to you and your family. And to all our service men and women!!

Do you have any 308 subsonic loads with sr4759? With maybe a 125gr, 168, 210gr bullets
Thanks

i researched a ton on 308 subs and there is a common combo that is the best and has worked for me. very accurate and stabil.

hornady 180 round nose - very stable because it puts more surface in contact with the lands. youll likely not stabilize anything higher with standard twist 308's.

trail boss for the powder. its a low density and will fill the case up to where its supposed to be. higher density powders lead to cases that have way to much air volume on the inside and you can have major issues.

Thanks for the replies guys

All the research I have done it seems that most people use trail boss. I also noticed that sr4759 is suppose to be good cause of loading density. The other reason
I asked about sr4759 is because I have bunches of it. Also I have a 10 twist.

Rotortuner, Did you come across any loads with the 4759?

Chris

I like the trail boss myself and have had great results with it.

Accuracy is plenty good for hunting or plinking. Usually I can expect 1-2 moa, sometimes better depending on projectile.

Something I really suggest you try is the hornady 160 FTX bullet. It has shot better than ANY other bullet in my 308 subs. It is a stumpy bullet if you load it to the crimp line, and will probably have a bit of jump to the lands in your rifle, but that has never seemed to be a problem for me. It helps to fill the case up more loaded this way compared to other bullets in its weight class.
