.308 to 6.5 CREEDMOOR

....Ok im short on the 6.5 CM brass and have TONS of .308 Hornady TAP brass (the black stuff) Im trying to resize it to the 6.5 by first trimming the case to Creedmoor OAL then resizing threw my resizing die! ...DIDNT WORK! theN i tried heating up the necks and resizing them again "work hardening" them! ...DIDNT WORK!


Whats happening is as i slide the bolt shut it stops as i first try to turn the bolt handle down....



Ok now your guys turn to school me on what i need to do to make this work and if its "buy new brass" PM me and ill send u my address to where u can send it! hahaha!

If I am not mistaken the "black stuff" is a nickel finish. I do not believe you will be able to achieve anything with it. I make 6.5 CM out of Hornady Match brass (308, once fired TAP, no nickel finish), but the necks have to be turned because the necks get really thick during forming.

Sorry for the bad news... Even if it formed ok, you will still need to turn the necks.

Might try a 7-08 die cut down to bump your shoulder to Creedmoore length. Then run it through the 6.5 Creedmoor die. But that brass is HARD. The Nickel coating will play hell with your dies.

I second that. If you don’t neck turn the case with a seated bullet will be 4-5 thou too wide. It won’t chamber safely.
