Bought some ammo the other day for my bolt rifle and after reading on here that 175gr was the way to go for .308 I decided I'd buy some to test it myself. Well the only 175s in FGMM was in 7.62x51mm so I figured it would be more or less the same. Only difference I can see is that the ammo looks dirty, they didn't doll it up like typical shiny FGMM in 308. Velocities appear to be the same from what I can glean from the web between the 308 and the 7.62, so my question is is there any reason this is not a preferable round for me to shoot? I'll find out first hand whenever I get out to the range how it performs but I believe it's going to be the same thing as the 308 version.
And my rifle is a .308 and I'm familiar with the compatibility of the two.
