Here's another restock job.

These were bought as separate components here on the hide. Were just going through the ritual of making them fit together. Barrel contours are pretty different. The bedded pad under the cylinder doesn't match either.

The simple answer prolly would of been to scuff out the barrel pad and skim bed the receiver again. Not how we do stuff though.

Starting with the stock. More "divine power" through filler.

Why is the top of the pillars ran the direction of the barrel instead of sideways to the stock? Is there one way that is better than the other. I run mine the opposite way or side to side.

Fixin to bed.

Stock inletting is all done. Much tighter fit on the barrel channel now.

Reminds me of a crickit bat with the short barrel.

Were bedded now and onto the perty werkz.

Never fiddled with this particular Surgeon action before. I had to mudderfy my action jack a bit since the rail is attached to the receiver. A donor scope ring made quick work of that.

FWIW these are pretty nice from a machined fit standpoint. Everything so far has been "on the numbers" in terms of hole locations, etc. Pretty cool. Makes life easy on the mill.


Trigger inlet all done.

Now onto tuning up the barrel channel.

Damn Chad....that bedding job is extremely nice and the fit of the bottom metal looks almost like it was destined to be mated to that stock.

Dunno yet. We've not shot it yet. This gun came in as a collection of second hand parts. We just put her together. Soon as were done squirtin color we'll stretch its legs a bit.

Laying it as we speak matter of fact. I didn't like how the base came out, so were scuffing and starting over.

Kalli has it about 90% there. Will be shooting the base again today.

Week's end we'll have it wrapped up.

Better be including the misses on this one. I'm just spectating and being "the biche". This one is all her work.

Dark earth color is squirted and flashing in the oven. Cutting the stencils for black now. We should have this done within an hour or so.
