Suppressors 30BA Brake stuck in can? Make a tool!

This one was my fault, I didnt actually torque the brake down to the barrel and got it stuck in the can. But I know this happens sometimes even when you do torque it down. Its a tricky situation, and Im not sure how someone without special tooling would actually get one out without sending back to TBAC.

Maybe Ill make this tool available to rent...

Very nice, you have the start of a business that could also include other brake attach models.
If the tool was affordable people would just suck it up and buy, instead of going through the hassles of renting.
I've bought my share of specialized AAC, Knight's Armament and other tools that are used infrequently, but are good to have in the toolbox regardless.

Another way to get it out would be to put some loctite on the threads on your barrel and thread the suppressor (That has the brake stuck in it), let the loctite set and then unscrew the suppressor off of the brake.

You thought out side the box and that product is really amazing. You have something there. If I was you, I would go ahead and apply for a PATENT on that design before someone else does!!!! Now If you could get all makers of suppressor's with brake attach units to comply to your tool design, the sky is the limit. Give Zak at TBAC a call and show him your device.

I want one! I was considering drilling holes in the back of the brake to fit a spanner wrench. I have a couple rifles I want to use my 30BA on that I really don't want to have muzzle brakes on while shooting unsuppressed. Great idea.

I've used my 338ba extensively on both my 308 and 338. How are you guys getting this thing stuck on there? Am I missing something?

You put loctite the brake and the barrel, and then it will stay there. Also, I don't think you have to put way to much force into tightening the suppressor. Just put it on till it hits the end of the threads, give it just a light touch further and it shouldn't come off.

In my case I was test fitting it while threading a barrel, then checking end cap runout. Can't torque it down super tight or the barrel will spin in the chuck.

Normally I don't have an issue, even without loctite because I set the shoulder so that it requires pretty decent torque to clock it.

To judge the cost you would need to factor in material cost and how much time it takes you to make one..... figure out your hourly rate.

It should work on the 338 brake, would obviously just need a 3/4-24 sleeve made for it instead. Im gonna make another one up with hex aluminum for the sleeve part, see how long it takes me, and go from there. Doesnt seem to be quite enough interest to sub them out on a CNC just yet.

Yes, it is, but just knowing KYS Im sure he has at least 4 in 3/4-24 for all his 338's haha

I'd be interested to have one in the bag. Only happened once, and not too big of deal to re loc tite. But it caused an issue while out shooting
