I think it's more like a 308 necked up.
It's more of short to medium range range Elk or Moose cartridge.
225 GR. SFT SP Hodgdon H322 .338" 2.750" 37.0 2204 fps 52,700 PSI 41.0 2357 fps 60,000 PSI
I'd be picking something with a little more zap personally.
