I found a decent price on the above ammunition in a 120 round case.

Works out to $5.25 a round. I've heard good things about the 285gr. vs the 300.

I will be Target shooting for fun out to about 1500 yds. from a Ruger Precision Rifle (One in 9.375 twist)

Anyone have experience with these in an RPR or a rifle with a similar barrel length/twist?

I know the Scenar stuff is really good but its almost double the cost.

I am not reloading yet but will be saving this brass as a starting point for later.

dont overthink it .338 with hit those distance with pretty much any ammo. 285gr Hornady is good. get into reloading sooner than later if you are going to be shooting .338

I shoot the 285's in my RPR all the time. Good bullet. I just switched over from Hornady brass to some Lapua I had. I bought 60 rds of Hornady ammo to start with and figured on having some brass to reload. I only got 12-15 reloadings out of that brass!! Absolutely NO problems of any kind with the Hornady, nothing getting loose (primer pockets), trimmed probably twice. Just thought it was time to change it out. Only reason I had the Lapua was because of Midways smokin deal on the BBR stamped Lapua brass.

Same results. Good compromise of speed and BC. Also, though it is not advertised as a hunting bullet, it has great terminal performance. 1500 for a 338 LM is a very reasonable distance especially for that bullet.
