So my rifle should be showing up any day and gen 2 Razor will be here in a few weeks. So now I’m needing a scope mount. Was wondering if anyone has been able to get a 100 yard zero with the cant in the action with a 20 or 20.6 moa scope mount on top. Thinking about dropping the rifle into a AI AX chassis so will need a 1.5” high mount. Thanks for the info in advance

Not sure if my wording is confusing or not? Any one with a Surgeon 1581 xl action have a 20 moa mount and a 100 yard zero?
I am running a 20 MOA base and Burris signature tactical 34mm rings with 20MOA in them and i have 27.5 mils of adjustment so i have almost the whole scope with a 100 zero.
The surgeon 1581 xl has 30 moa of cant built into the top pic rail and I’m wondering if I can add another 20 moa mount, for a total of 50 moa. Sorry for the confusion

I run a 40 MOA rail on my Vudoo with a 20 MOA mount and can zero at 50 with my Gen II Razor, but it's a 3-18, which has the same amount of elevation travel per the Vortex website.

Sorry, the mount is 1.181" high. I've got 1.500" entered into Strelok. Don't have the rifle in front of me to verify, but I shouldn't need to.
Ok . I’ll have to run a 1.5” high mount with the AI chassis, so I don’t know if that will help or hinder me zeroing at 100 with 50 moa . Thanks for the info

Should help as there will be more distance between your bore and the center of your scope, so less dialing down to zero.

Ok that’s way cool. I’ll probably need to wait for the rifle to see how far above the bore the pic rail is on the action

No, but a set of rings would do you just fine. Lot of good options out there. Seekins, Badger, Hawkins, etc.
Only issue is I’m looking for 20 moa, does any one beside Burris make a ring set that will give you cant?
Yeah I agree on getting a quality mount. I like the spuhr, but may need to save up a little more coin( or just forgo a nice bipod for awhile) I like the MPA Mount but the. 1.5” high one is only available in 0moa, I don’t really like the look of the nuts on the side of the mdt and Hawkins ( kinda petty I know) the arc mount looks better but wouldn’t mind the thumb wheels being smaller but I could live with it. I really like the spuhr and the MPA mounts.... so it looks like I need to do some coin saving for a used spuhr. how are the quick detach American defense mounts? Looks like a lot of parts in the mount that could keep them from staying rigid?
Get yourself an ERA-TAC adjustable mount. This way you can control the amount of forward cant and not spend so much time agonizing over whether or not you can zero your rifle at 100 yards with whatever amount of cant.
You’re spending a lot of money on a quality rifle, scope combo that will be shooting $5.00 bills.
Stop trying to pinch pennies on the mount. Same will apply to the bipod. System is only as strong as its weakest link. Don’t cheap out on these things.
Not really trying to pinch pennies for the sake of pinching pennies, I sold another rifle with all components and only have so much to finish this build. Plus I reload so it will not be $5.00 a shot more like $1.20 on already owned once fired brass with 300 noslers or a little more with mk’s or lapua’s. I’m looking at a atlas cal for a bipod and still undecided on the mount. Maybe a spuhr or a MPA but MPA doesn’t have a 20 moa version in 1.5” height.
I’ll probably look for a spuhr 4602 unless MPA has any limited run 20moa versions of there mount
The Spuhr mount is really nice, I am very happy with my 44 moa mount, although I now believe it is too much, at least for my needs. I am wondering why you need 50 moa of inclination in your mount, along with the 71 moa of the scope? 80 moa will get you past sonic transition at approximately 2000 yards, so the 30 moa in your base is more than enough with the scopes adjustment to do that. If you cant the scope more than half of its adjustment range (35.5moa) you are not likely to be able to set a 100 yard zero. Unless you are normally shooting over 2000 yards don't get a mount with more than 10 moa for your 30 moa base. Just my thoughts, and have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for that info, I ran the numbers last night and looks like I would have enough adjustment for out to around 2000 yards with a flat mount on my 30 moa rail. So I think I’m going to try the MPA mount for now. Thanks
Thanks. Rifle was supposed to show yesterday but it’s delayed and I’ll have the scope in a few weeks and the AI chassis in a week or so. Picked up the last AI chassis I could find in the U.S. I guess there discontinued

Yes sir, it is very important for long range accuracy. There are quite a few to choose from, and you can pick the one that works best for you. I have pic rail mounted Knights Armament levels under my scopes and as far back as possible so I can glance down with my dominant eye to check it, my left eye has a damaged retina so I can't use it like most people do off the left side. Also my Spuhr mount has a level built in the bottom rear, but it is a bit too far forward for me. Get a quality unit that fits your application and you will be most glad you did.
