Hey ya'll new to the forums, and new to long rang shooting, I have a savage 110fcp hs precision, 26" 1in9 barrel! I got some 250gr bergers, and was curious what some of you guys are getting for results out of your powder choices? Any info would be great help, thank you! And also, what kind of primers? I mainly will just be shooting 1000 yards, but after some practice, goin to step it up to a mile! Again, thank you!

Welcome man, I'm new myself to the forum , but I've been shooting .338 lapua for years!
I have a 110 BA and we have the same barrel twist (1in9) ,actually pretty much same gun;
is true that each rifle shoots differentelly, therefore , all I can do is tell you what my rifle likes:
My gun likes 300 gr better than 250, powder wise anithing like : H 1000 , IMR 4350, H retumbo are a good choice ( if you can get your hands on :D) very good accuracy with 4350 , better velocity H1000 or H RETUMBO, but my shooting is limitated to only 400 yards, I'm not sure how those loads will work at extended range!

The primer of choice to me are Federal LArge rifle Magnum, they also have a MATCH version of this primer that is even better but hard to find ! My weapon likes sierra better than berger , but for others berger works best, so its really up to you to find your own load, that your gun likes!
Hope that helps a little !

Thanks! I have a box of bergers, I was lucky enough to find on the shelf at a local store, and scheels fortunately stil had 3 pounds of H1000, and RE25! I am having a hard time finding anything else, however I have a lot of cci large rifle magnums for some of my other rifles, and I have always heard great about them, and I myself like them! I appreciate the tips, im only 19, and im sure some of you good ole boys on here have forgot more than ill know! So again, I appreciate it!

I’m little confused about running the 300 grain bergers with H1000. I got the reloading information from Berger, but they’re saying that the case capacity is over 100%. I’m new to reloading and even newer to .338. What does this mean to me?

Is this just mean that the projectile will compress the powder? Of course I’m going to start in ladders and take plenty of measurements, but is there anything else I should be concerned about?

I'm about out of powder and am not happy that I cannot find any retumbo or h1000. Nothing worse than a brand new GAP 338 and no fucking powder.
