I shoot 300 grain HPBT bullets and all my dope is centered around that bullet. Does anyone recommend a hunting bullet? I have not found a 300 grain but have found some 275 grain hunting bullets. Or has anyone have good kills or performance on game with a HPBT?

I don't know about hunting with it, but I personally know what the 300 Grains SMK does to a 1/4" thickness galvanized pipe. It went through it front and back like hot butter at 1K. Wouldn't want to be at the receiving end of that for sure.

Found some swift A frames in 275. Think I will try those and see what happens.

Look at the terminal ballistics of the 300gr SMK then compare it to just about anything else,I would be pretty confident that it will do the job in a 338 Lapua on just about anything you want to hunt.JMHO.
