338 lapua magazine question

My question is for all you 338 lapua shooters out there I am hating the short 3.65 mag length of the aics mags is ther another magazine that will fit my same custom drop box that will give me a little more oal. The action is from APA if that helps. Thanks guys

I think there's a CIP length mag available, but I don't shoot AIs so I'm not entirely sure.

I dont think your going to find anything. you would need to go to CIP length mags = diff bottom metal, or modify current if possible = probably need to modify your action feed ramp

What I was afraid of I have no idea how to mod my current. I was just hoping there would be one to purchase that would fit but give me a little extra length. With the Berger 300s they are seated way in there

You would need to mill out the front of the mag well .125"ish for CIP. Your bottom metal my not have enough meat in that area to do so. The Bergers are long bullets anyway. Whats your COAL when touching the lands? If you dont have the freebore to seat the bullets out further than your current length its not going to matter how much room you have in the mag.

Just shoot it a lot and you will need a barrel right away. Your smith can custom make the chamber in the new barrel to work with your mags.
