.338 Lapua

I have been reloading .308 for a while and am now getting ready to load for a new .338 Lapua I just bought. I want to have the furthest effective range (supersonic) I can get.

I have a 25.5 inch barrel on a Lawton action.

What powders work well in this cartridge and what is the best bullet available for ELR?

300 SMK's or Scenars or some of Noel Carlsons bullets.

RL25, Retumbo

The sierra manual says to use Viht N165 for 250 SMKs and for the 300's use IMR 4350.

Anyone have experience with these?

Thanks. I had already read that thread. A lot of guys are using powders that I can't find right now. I was trying to find some other options for powder.

I did find some RE 25 in 1 lb containers. I can't find primers to save my life, but of course no one can right now.

I found some RL25 and ordered it.
This morning I found some 4832sc.

Which is going to be the better powder for the .338?
Is one less temp sensitive than the other?

I'll bet the RL25 will work just fine for you, I'd try that before ordering any other powder.
