H1000 or Retumbo seem to be the go to powders for the 338LM. I haven't the fucking slightest as to the powder that Federal uses though.
I have a TRG and use 90.0 grains of IMR 7977 gets me 2700 fps with the 300 gr SMK's

What did you end up going with BA33? I tried RL33 and H1000 the other day. I can't find that load data right now. I will post when I do. H1000 did better for MV than the IMR 7977. RL 33 didn't do much better than the IMR 7977 and the groups were larger.
I was just out this morning shooting some ELR with both the 300 SMK and 300 Hybrid They both shoot very well with the main difference being the Berger having a higher BC advantage.
Here is my 300 SMK load. Shooting an AI long action with Dave Tooley 27 inch 1-9.4 with 1-9.4 twist. As far as powder go I run Retumbo for the 285 to 300 grain bullets and H-1000 for the 250 Grain when I sometimes shoot them. My buddy uses VihtaVuori N570 and get a little more velocity them Retumbo

I have a TRG too Love the rifle and the round! using 215 primers Lapua Brass, 92 gn H1000, gives me 2780. My only gripe is I load it just off the lands, and the ejection port is too short (mag as well) to eject the cartridge if I don't send it down range. the bullet is the berger 300gn OTM Hybrid. basically have a very accurate single shot. Corbon works in it as well, but it's expensive.
Retumbo, VV N570. Not hugely slower than H1000 but it made a huge difference in pressure & accuracy in my 338AI. Lots of people do have success with H1000 but if it's not working for you, try something different! Assuming you're not jammed in the lands....
I'm not jammed in the lands, I jump about .015 to start developing load. Will give n570 a try.
