Need some help fellas. I bought some once fired 338NM brass and after using a FL sizer die, it won't chamber. I think I need a small base sizer die. Anybody know who makes one? I searched the web, but no luck.

If your positive you've bumped the shoulder's enough, start a new thread asking for die makers. There was a thread lately with a custom die pictured, but I can't find it. I think the company was CH4?????
If the shoulder is bumped enough, that means the cartridge base is oversized from oversized chamber, and making a custom die and shellholder combo to fix it will be a one time use thing.
You'd be alot better off returning the brass and starting over
I'm pretty sure. The case feeds damn near all the way, except the last 1/4". I noticed a slight ring around the case near the base when I used a little force, not a lot, to try and send it home.
I googled custom die makers and so much for trying to save some coin on once fired brass. Thanks for the input milo.
Might try the old body die trick. Take a body die and cut the top off below the shoulder and then trim the bottom until it sizes the case small enough. You'll have to resize the case afterward to bump the shoulder back. This usually works if you only need a .001 or .002.

No, best to remove from die. You might have to remove .090 or .100 off the bottom to gain anything.

Thanks, knowing this before would've save me hundreds of cases, especially 7mmSAUM stuff that's priceless right now. And it's such a simple solution.

Rem, even if you try get one from Redding, it's still going to be considered custom, buying just regular die and cutting it up should do the same. Just find a smith with a lathe.
Dave Kiff @ PTG is currently running a special on custom dies. You get a custom die reamer and a die blank for ~$150.
Then you'll have to have someone do the machinework to cut the die with your new reamer.

This is by far the best tip I've found since joining the Hide.
There's going to be some 7mm SAUM brass for sale shortly, once fired of coarse, because that's the only kind, especially range pickup stuff, factory ammo only ranges out west here you know.
I would get a custom die, but I just want to be able to fire them in my gun, then I am good to go. Cheapest way out for sure. Thanks for the input Hl540.
Rem7, hope it works if you try it. I use this method on 3 calibers that I push hard. milo, one happens to be a 6.5 saum I have been shooting for a few years using the 7mm case.
I bet I bought some of same 1x fired 338 NM brass as rem 7. I've got the same issue. My smith is going to try the body sizer trick with his reamer. Will see how it works.
I had the same exact issue. I got a bunch of Jamison brass and it runs like a top. I am glad to see more people talking about this round, it is often overlooked.
