Looking for some input from those who have used both on 30 cal magnums. In a perfect world I would order the 338 ultra and have it tomorrow, but alas we all know that is not possible.

I currently have a Nomad-30 and SiCo Hybrid in NFA Jail both May '19 orders so I anticipate the stamps in the next few months. I am in the process of building a 300 PRC that I will want to run primarily suppressed. I am having a hard time finding reports on the effectiveness of the Nomad-30 on 30 cal magnums.

Has anyone used the Nomad-30 on magnums and been happy with the results? What about the SiCo Hybrid? Trying to decide if I should just use the cans I've already purchased or bite the bullet try to find a 338 Ultra in stock and pray for a batch approval.

Thanks @Zak Smith. I was able to shoot the 338 Ultra on a 338 Lapua at a range day with TBAC and Hansohn Brothers. I have nothing, but good things to say about the event, Ray and TBAC cans. It was a great opportunity to try out your stuff, and it was also my first opportunity to shoot suppressed so a big thanks to TBAC for traveling around the country and holding these events.

At the time I had already ordered the cans mentioned in my OP. As I said, in a perfect world and money no object, I would just go ahead and buy the ultra. I know I would be happy with the performance of the TBAC can, I'm just trying to figure out if I'll be close to as happy with what I've already purchased.

I have shot all of those plus the new nomad L on 338 Lapua and 300 Norma and 300 win.

The hybrid sucks on 338 lm period. It's satisfactory as a back up for decible reduction on 300 win and Norma...recoil midigation is okay.

The nomad 30 sounds decent for both 30 cal Magnums with and without the ebrake but nothing to write home about. Recoil midigation is better than the hybrid.

Nomad L was honestly very effective at both recoil and sound reduction on the 30's and imo, gave very similar results to my time with the 338 ultra on the same calibers.

The 338 ultra gets the most for most preceived sound reduction imo. Recoil reduction felt about the same as the nomad L.

If I had to get another can tomorrow it would be a 338 ultra

FWIW OP I run the 30 cal Ultra 7 on my 300NM and am happy with it. Kinda really surprised how effective it is on such a beast of a round. Tames the rifle pretty well.

Heck took my lil model girl fran out to a 1200 yard shoot and she was shooting it like no big deal and got a hit on her 3rd or 4th round.

I run the 338 Ultra on everything from 22x47 to 338 Lapua Improved. It's freaking awesome. I also have an Ultra 9 but it rarely leaves the safe unless I am shooting two rifles.
