I just got a remington 700 338 lapua and am looking for a scope. For now i don't have too much money to spend so I was looking at the vortex viper 6.5-20x44, 6.5-20x50 or the nikon monarch 6-24x50. Any opinions, pros, cons, and ideas will be appreciated.

I'd go for the 50mm objective options. The glass on both are about equal, with the edge probably going to Nikon. However, the Nikon is only a 1" tube. The 30mm tube on the viper is more common amongst higher end Scopes so you wont have to buy new rings if you choose to upgrade.

I have a Nikon scope on a rifle, and it is clearer than the Vortex I have looked through. I would however rather have the Vortex for long range due to the 30mm tube.

Try a Sightron SIII 6-24x50,Great glass and tracking,100 moa adjustment,30mm tube.Not Tacticool,but is a good quality optic.Made in Japan and not the Philippines or China.
