Looking to get a chassis for my Savage 110 FCP.

Thing is it says Savage Long action 338CIP.

I understand CIP is a bit longer than 338LM. But everything my rifle says is 338LM.

I of course haven't called yet, wanted to see what you guys think.....

Thanks!!!

It's still a 338 Lapua, but the CIP length is so you can seat the bullet further out and still feed from a mag. CIP length is good, especially for the Berger bullets since they are a little more sensitive to seating depth. If I understood it right, your action would have to except CIP length mags too. But hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

CIP is the European version of SAAMI, but the spec is slightly different. Like Whit mentioned, what it's basically saying is that it supports the CIP mag length spec, which is slightly longer and to many, more advantageous.
