I recently purchased a Vortex Razor Gen 3 1-10 that will be used on my 12.5" 5.56 LMT/Hodge "do-it-all" (i.e. HD, coyote hunting, plinking at the range) gun. Now I'm trying to decide on a mount. I've been looking at the Badger Ordinance COMM, but I've also had my eye on Spuhr. Is Spuhr worth an extra $100+?

QD is not a requirement of mine. I'm just looking for a solid, reliable 1.93"-ish mount that is worthy of the optic and the gun's uses.

Have had both and both work great. Save yourself the $100 and get the Badger Ordinance COMM

I have this Geissele AR Mount on my JP 556 AR and it is "the shit".

Curious...what is driving the 1.93" desire? I ask since you'll find MANY more options in the ~1.5" realm (such as 2 of the options suggested in this very thread.)

IMO, 1.5" is where you want to be for a do-it-all rifle, even if you're not into NV.

My 2 cents...I'm not a fan of the Geissele and Badger mount protruding nuts. I like the SP-4616 on my ARs... 6mil cant (not really necessary on a dedicated 12.5"/LPVO setup, but my scopes hop around), cantilever, and (the most versatile :D ) 1.5" height.

The JP can be had for less $$, and won't disappoint.

If it HAS to be taller, SP-4024 (no cant)...or Badger if you don't mind the way it mounts.

All of those options will be worthy.

I had a 1.93" Scalarworks mount for an Aimpoint T2 on this rifle before making the switch to an LPVO. I really liked the more natural posture and more heads up shooting position it allowed. I was actually going to try the even taller Unity FAST mount for the Aimpoint before I decided on the Razor. Given my experience with the 1.93" red dot, I figured I would like a 1.93" LPVO mount.

I agree with you on the Badger's 1/2 inch mounting nuts. That's one of the reasons I even question using it, but people seem to love them.

I wish NF would make some taller mounts, I absolutely love their unimounts and have 3. Taller would be nice on my ar though. 1.5 is a hair low feeling and i am a normal cheek bone person.

IMO, I would get any mount, quality of course, that didn't use those damn hex nuts. Since you use the rifle/scope combination for hunting, and will probably sling it up, from time to time, those nuts have been a pita, for me, anyways, catch on clothing, brass-catchers, etc. (yeah, you can swap sides with most), but, anything with Torx, Allen, type (easier to have an Allen/Torx wrench with you, than a box/open end wrench, or numerous other types, for field maint.) is my go-to style of mount securing method. ymmv.
