Gathering parts for a 35 whelen build and curious about other peoples setups and barrel length/muzzle velocity numbers. Thinking of finishing mine at 20” to run suppressed if descent velocity can be achieved at that length.
I built one 25 years ago on a Sako L61r action w 20 inch barrel. RL-15 w Nosler 225 i was getting 2725 fps. Factory Hornady ammo was over 2800 FPS, i want to say 2815-2825 FPS. Federal 225 TBBC was 2650ish FPS. Great cartridge.
