Ok so I have a 1/4X32 pitbull from ior valdada, love it, its what I wanted without the switch to catch on things or the price of the elcan. I intended to get an extended spr mount from larue.... it won't fit behind the adjustements, the tube length isn't long enough...
So I ended up with a qd mount from ior valdada, IMO seems a smidgen low on the ar for natural positioning but its ok. This thing has throw levers, which make me a little nervous but for a game rifle (carbine shoots) if it goes I am not going to do more than swear a few times.
I have a 1.5-8X26 35mm tube and it too has a 3.5 inch eye relief and I want to move it forward, its going on a 6.5 grendel so IMO definitely justifies a reliable stable mounting set up. So rings are out (have the suggested ones) because the scope is too far to the rear (stock is literally at the full extension when sitting at a bench, I like to have it at 4 so I can open to 6 in prone)larue mount only gives me 1.5" forward movement of the scope (because with the spr the rear ring dicates position where with rings the front one did loose half an inch there) I want more!
Help? Ideas obviously the qd mount from ior valdada will work, but its not a reliable zero its off by about 3 clicks every time I take it off. larue makes a what I think would be pretty reliable qd extended rail and considering I have rings I think the height might be perfect with it, about the same price as the ior valdada mount.
IMO neither is a good solution I really liked the spr mount but it simply won't do. I only need 2" extenion on this scope.
