Rifle Scopes 36mm Rings and mounts

Yup, they're few and far between at the moment. I'd heard Hensoldt was shipping rings with their new ZF 3.5-26x but seeing Spuhr doing their own variant makes me think that's no longer the case. IIRC, IOR did some non-standard tube diameter scopes and shipped rings along with them because of that (35mm & 40mm I think). We're starting to see 35mm being supported more often by the likes of Badger and Seekins, but I think 36mm is still too rare to expect much support amongst 3rd party manufacturers. Your best best would be to talk to the dealer where you're getting your optic from. You may just have to bite the bullet and get the Spuhr - it's not like those are low-end quality rings/mounts ;)

We will also start making a slimline hunting series of rings, and we have just made our first batch of 30 and 36 mm rings for Blaser bases.
I belive those are to low to work with the Hensoldt 3,5-26 but they do work with the New Zeiss V8 scopes.
Those are soon avaible for picatinny/Weaver as well as for sako optilock to.

There is very few Hensoldt 36mm scopes sold, so I find it unlikely that others will follow soon in making tactial mounts or rings for 36mm.
One thing to be remembered about the Hensoldt scope is that while mounted on a picatinny rail the mount must be minimum 1,5" high as the battery compartment in the scope is building loads down.

Here is a few pics of the new series rings.

This is what I wanted to hear, I knew your mount was high (1.5) but didnt know why. Hence the battery location
and this explains the lacking of a level in your 36mm mount also. Thanks Haken

If you were drawn to the Hensoldt for it's 36mils of elevation, you might hold off a bit on an S&B 3-27x - they're still shipping with the previous 26mil turrets. Apparently they will be upgradeable to the 36mil model at some point later this year.

At least that's the boat I've been in...
