I have an early '80s vintage S&W Mod. 49 (steel frame) and a mistakenly ordered box of .38 +P. The barrel designates .38 SPL. Should I steer clear of the +P rounds? 2 hours of google( ammo and handgun) yields indeterminate results.
Thanks, Pete

Re: .38 SP with +P ?

With these two replies and further contemplation, I think I'll err on the side of caution; usually a good choice with things that explode. On the upside, only 50 of the 300 rounds are +P so my .357 shooting bud is fixing to get an unexpected present.
Many thanks!
