Here is mine with normal 5 round AICS CIP length mag. Use mine bear hunting and can’t say mag length has been an issue. I did go with Seekins bottom metal with a push button release so it would have less of a chance of getting caught on something and dropping a mag inadvertently.

I’m not here to say what’s enough or not but before a guy goes and tries to hack up a $80 magazine to hold two less rounds you might see how it handles with a regular 5 round mag first. You can always load two less rounds if you want. And there is always a hinged floor plate bottom metal if your worried about a mag hanging up on something.
