I know this is more of a LR rifle type forum but I have read some on the kel tec and other forums and have been completely unimpressed to say the least. This forum has a wealth of knowledge that I am just trying to tap into and learn as much as I can.

I am looking for a starting point in loading 40S&W for my Kel Tec sub 2000. This is really just a fun gun that I bought on an impulse because the gun store I frequent just happened to get one in. I am thinking that I will need one of the slower burning powders to get the most out of the 16" tube and I want to shoot 180g pills. I'm thinking possibly starting out with Power Pistol but I am open for suggestions which I why I posted this to begin with.

Thanks

I use WSF for a 6" Glock with 180 gr moly bullets. 4.7 works for me. If you are able to find a powder much slower you may not be able to get enough in the case. I guess it also depends how much room you have in your magazine and throat. I load to 1.12 but guys with S_I pistols can load out to 1.2 coal. I would try WSF and work up. If you can load long you can use more powder and might find something slow enough to get the velocity you seek. Check your max COAL before you venture away from traditional .40 powders.
