Slight subject shift Chad... Many years ago I was lucky enough to share a meal with Vic Edelbrock and Jim Smith at the Miami boat show. Smith was a sailfish boat builder (Big, light and fast). They were promoting a lightweight, high output Italian diesel we were looking at for one of our builds. I ask Vic about porting cylinder heads. At the time it was pretty much an art form. No such thing as 5 axis machines back then. Many hours were spent on the flow bench trying to match port velocity and volume between cylinders grinding by hand. They were looking at casting their on heads that would require minimum hand work to complete. Tech has made repeatability easy.
