Re: 40x value?

"They" gonna give you a kiss and a bit of lube??

Bolt will cost you $200+ with shipping from PTG when they get another run done, + probably $100 to fit it for correct headspace as PTG leaves .010 extra on the lugs so they can be fit to 100% of the rifles.

CMP sold the complete barreled actions with bolt for $400 + shipping and the stripped barreled recievers are still listed @ $275 + shipping. These are the ones marked USMC.

Does it have the ejector/feed ramp in place and the 1.5"ish tin filler piece and spring in the left rail just above and left of the ejector? Is trigger complete and functional? Is the bolt stop and spring there?

Sounds like someone may have bought a complete barreled action, took the bolt and is trying to recoup 100% of their money on the rest?

If you have to spend that much for what you listed you are money ahead to buy a complete and functioning rifle. At least it will have or gain value. A Heinz 57 parts gun will always be just that!

Just my .02 cents worth however.

Re: 40x value?

wow. i had no idea they went for less than this one im looking at. i thought these things had turned into gold for precision shooters. im glad i didnt buy it then. its listed on gunbroker. it has no trigger either. it has the factory ejector and receiver filler installed. but im not going to touch it for $425 then. thank you for your help SD.

Re: 40x value?

If it is the 1 still listed on GB that seller must have bought several at one of the CMP stores on the first day they were made available (Oct 5) and is selling off the 'least desireable' or as stated robbed the bolts from complete barreled actions that were available the first day but sold out right away. He would have pd $400 for them complete or $275 stripped. He already sold one for the $325 last week IIRC. OR...his intent when purchasing all along was to resell for a substantial profit.

The CMP's intent is for them to be purchased and shot/rebuilt, not resold. However when there is money involved morals, integrity usually override greed and dishonesty. There are numerous individuals who have made a considerable amount of 'play money' from CMP purchases and figure it their right and priviledge to do so! Guess I am still living in the past where your word and honor weren't for sale!

As my twin brother always says...."People Suck"!!!!

Nope.

Just printed out my order for one from CMP. A little less than $290 shipped.
