Anybody know how sensitive 4831 is to temperature flucation? I have a near max pressure load worked up at 50 deg., and I want to get an idea of the the change in velocity and pressure I might expect with a potential 20 deg temp change either direction. (7wsm, if curious). TIA.

Re: 4831 Temp Sensitivity

I have used it in a hunting rifle in temps from 15 F to 95 F and have not seen a variance in POI out to 600+ yd. The load was established at 60 degrees and did just fine to both ends of the temp. range with no pressure issues. If there was a fluctuation in velocity it was low enough not to affect POI.

Re: 4831 Temp Sensitivity

Not max but very close to it. Primers were a little flatter at 95 but nothing at all to be concerned with. Not even a stamp from the ejector at the higher temps.
When my 7wsm is completed H4831 will be the first powder I try in it.
