Suppressors 5.56 with 7.62 can?

Re: 5.56 with 7.62 can?

I was running my AAC Cyclone on a 5.56 AR just yesterday and was impressed with the level of suppression. I'm not a fan of shooting suppressed AR/M16 because of the gas and crap that gets projected back toward your face. However, I didn't notice it that much yesterday. Although, this was on a 16" barreled gun, I've ran the same suppressor on my 14.5" M4 barrel and I remember it getting a lot more gas.

Anyway, to answer your question I'm content with 7.62 suppressor on 5.56 platform.

Re: 5.56 with 7.62 can?

I have run a .30 cal can on multiple host weapons. Literally, from .22LR up to 300 Weatherby magnum rifles. There has not been a problem at all.... Still hearing safe.... Normally on .22 calibers you need a thread conversion if you are running a 5/8. Good shooting.... I have both an Ops Inc and Gemtech in .30 cal.

Re: 5.56 with 7.62 can?

I've used a .30 cal suppressor on a 16" 5.56mm with favorable results. As it was explained to me, the extra baffles and volume of the .30 cal help offset the additional gas that escapes from the increased endcap and baffles diameter.

I'm waiting on a stamp for an osprey 45 and a 30p-1 is in the works. I figured these 2 will cover most of my guns for now. Next for me will be a .556 can

Re: 5.56 with 7.62 can?

Only downside is a big .30 Cal can wouldn't be optimal on say a 14.5" carbine. You'd probably want something lighter and more compact.
