Am in the process of purchasing a proof research barrel (steel) for my RPR in 5.56, strangely enough the proof RPR .223 wylde come threaded 5/8 x 24. Does anyone out there makes a muzzle brake in this configuration? Have any of you guys seen them? Now this barreled is being purchased at OpticsPlanet, seems like they’re the only one that have this particular barrel in stock.

thanks

You can use anything up to a .30 brake on it. You won't feel the difference. My .223 is threaded to 5/8-24 and I got it that way so I can use anything I use on my others rifles on it. I use a .30 brake on mine as I had it already and it works great. The 6mm PVA would be a good choice or even the 6.5.

So I contacted Proof out of curiosity and they told me that its a mistake on the OpticsPlanet site and that their .223 wylde barrels come threaded 1/2x28 as I would imagine they should.
