That Sherman tank, 5th from the bottom... somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but that is one of those rare 'floating' Sherman's, isn't it?

One of the "customization steps" was to mount the prop drive in the center of the hull. There isn't anything else that is mounted there,,,correct?

Thanks Hermo, great photos, the photo of the marines after 23 days on the line is gripping. What they must have endured and experienced is unimaginable.
I'm off to a local fishing club, spending the day with some wounded warriors, the club gives them a day of fishing, eating and just plain fun! I'll show them your pictures, I'm sure they'll enjoy them. Thanks again,
Mike

My Dad, in theSea Bees, on an island in the Pacific. Spend a week setting up, and then follow the Marines to the next Island. Second or third wave, setting up positions for a radio station, while the Cat skinners repaired the Japanese landing field.
He is wearing the goggles.

My grandfather was a seabee. I wonder if they knew eachother. Would make a small world smaller.
