So just grabbed a box of 53gr Superformance. Looking at the numbers it has a slightly higher BC than the 52gr bthp, 52gr eldm, 55gr vmax and others. I notice it's a Lil longer than others. Anyone have experience with the 53gr? How would it shoot out of a 1:8 or 1:7? Thinking I may go with these for medium range plinking and coyotes out to around 300y. Basically wanting to find a lighter vmax type bullet for plinking, paper punching and predator/varmint use. Then having the 69gr smk, 73gr eld, and others in that weight range for banging steel/long range shots and paper punching. Gun is a savage hog hunter in a bell and carlson 20" 1:9 shooting at 5125ft altitude.

I shoot them in a Ruger American Predator 223. 1/8 twist at about 3250 fps. Great prairie dog load. Solid sub-moa accuracy.

The 53gr VMAX are my favorite light bullets. I've run them through ARs and bolt guns with great results, and they are hell on prairie dogs.

I can get about 3050fps out of a 16" AR barrel, 3150fps out of a 20" AR and 3250fps out of a 22" bolt gun, all with a little over 25 grains of IMR 8208XBR. These shoot bugholes, even loaded on a Dillon.
