556 Case Imperfections

Guys,

Been loading for years, but this is my first go with 556. Got the brass from picking up at random spots. Is this typical to see nicks like this in the middle of the case? I found several like this. Is it an issue? I’m assuming this happens during the cycling process on some guns.

Perfectly normal. Load them up and shoot them, the pressure will straighten that dent right out and the cycling will cause a new dent somewhere else in the case.

Most likely from the shell deflector= normal. Shoot them.

Yep, load em up and go shoot.

Firing will blow the dents back out.
