Debating selling my KAC SR15 match to fund a OBR. I know I will pay a serious premium to get an OBR (556) without waiting 18 months but I think I can offset the cost by selling the KAC to a ban state. If I send the KAC off to be threaded, I think it kills selling to a ban state and adds $250+/- to the base cost.

Is the OBR any better than a KAC LPR or SR15 Match?

I love my OBR's but I would keep the KAC and if it doesn't shoot I would just throw a new barrel on it and sell the one that is currently on it.

Problem with the KAC is the URX barrel mount system. Special wrench is $350? if you can buy one. So doing barrel changes are a PITA.

Plenty of folks have the barrel nut wrench...I know for a small fee I change them out regularly.

That said, the new LPR I shot yesterday was nice......

Id keep the SR15 Match you have, unless you want to wait roughly a year and a half to get an OBR

Shit I think your optomistic on that Year and a Half now.

I would keep the KAC in a second. I have shot the OBR a couple of times and definitely would not say that it was "better" than any of the KAC 5.56 rifle that I have owned/used.

But hey, get what you will be most happy with at the end of the day.

While I have not shot an OBR, I have a LPR on it's way. I know my wifes SR-15 shoots 69gr Sierra's very well. At the end of the day, buy what you think will work best for you. Best of luck!
