Guys
Im getting mixed reviews on my stock
I have a 10th aniv Remmy 5R
My plans are to build the rifle to my tastes
For now...It has a wyatts DBM in it
Good Scope

The factory 5R stock...Are they better than lets say a Bell and carlson medelist?

Is it worthy of playing with for a while or trade/sell it off?
Please help

Keep it and use it. Its as good as a B&C if not better and will work for you until you want to step up.

They work just fine. If it fits you and it's comfortable just keep it. The only thing you may need will be a cheek pad if your scope is too high for the comb.

Make sure it's free floated and that the action isn't moving in the aluminum bedding block. Sometimes if they do slip you will see it in a group being two separate groups. Like 2 shots here and then 3 shots a little way away. I had that happen with a 700P 300WM. A quick skim bed took care of the problem but something to look for. That's all I would do. Just shoot it.

Trigger

It has a worked Xmark in it now
Seems to break pretty lite
It has the Ernies spring installed??
What Im told by the prev owner/....
Ive read that everybody seems to hate them?

Old style remmy better?
X40?
Timney 510/517
Cant justify a Jewel at this point in the game

Decisions!!!!!

If the trigger breaks clean and isn't too light for you then use it. No need to spend money unless it's burning a hole in your pocket.

Some folks just don't like cussin'. Many consider words like "damn" and "hell" to be cuss words. I think it is a cultural thing for some church folks, just like most Marines don't think "mother#*cker" is much more than mildly strong language.

That gun is a shooter. U may consider trigger upgrade as the x mark can be very inconsistent. My timeny breaks within an oz or 2 of what I set it at every time. The xmark just couldn't do dat, it was sometimes a pound or 3 off what it was set for. Ur stock should be fine shoot it and see if it's fits ok and if u like the Toyota roll w it. If u have ahankerin for a caddy or Beemer. Check manners or McMillan.

Night eagle

The H&S Precision that comes on the 5R is a decent stock. I have planned on upgrading mine for a few years but the guns shoots well and the stock has grown on me. Other than adding bottom metal, Duracoat, iso mat, duct tape and JB welding my sling swivel posts in place I've left it alone and it hasn't left me wanting for much.

Right
If i aint broke..........
Gonna see what it will do as it sits
Im sure will do better than me..lol
after some range time..changes will or will not be made...
