OK, I am doing something wrong here. I have been unable to get decent results with 121 Flatlines. My go-to load for 123 Scenars is 42.6 grains of H4350, BR2s and Norma brass. With the Flatlines I started at 42.2 and worked up to 42.8. I was seeing around 2900FPS. My results were crappy, about 1.5 MOA or worse. I didn't want to waste more of them so I stopped there.
I am using an 8 twist 24" Bartlein.
A couple specific questions.
1. Is anyone having good luck with H4350 and Flatlines? If so what charge are you using? I am also happy to try Varget if you have gotten good results. I have plenty of both. I would like to make it work with either of those powders before using something new.
2. Do I need to really up the velocity to get good results.? I have heard people talking about getting great results around 3100 FPS.
3. What jump are you using? I have been loading really long for minimal jump. I am around 2.940 which gets me about .005 off the lands. I am wondering if this is not enough seating in the case to get stable flight. I load 123 Scenars at 2.850 with the same jump and get great results.
Everyone says that these solids are a different animal. I guess they are right.
PS: I understand, work up carefully, YMMV, and your recipe may be hazardous to my health ;-)
Thanks,
BC
