6.5 Creedmood Prime Ammo?

Prime Ammunition is loaded by RUAG, and uses Norma Brass and the Norma 130gr bullet."

That's from the Snipers Hide 260 ammo review and I've seen the same posted about the 6.5 brass as well.

Everything on the 6.5 points to it being as accurate or more accurate than the Hornady 140 ELD-M and 143 ELD-X, but each rifle is different. Prime 6.5 seems to get a little lower SD & ES than Hornady ammo. I highly doubt you'll see it on shelves, and believe it's only sold online (at the moment). Maybe local to where they are at it is sold in some gun shops, I don't know.

Better than reloading your own? I doubt it...once you find a primer, powder and bullet combo that your gun loves, it's hard to beat it. That 142 SMK load that put 4 shots into a sub-0.25 MOA hole that I posted some pics of on here will likely be more accurate than the 130 Prime, and my SD/ES were 4 & 8 respectively. Granted guys are getting high single digit SDs sometimes out of Prime 6.5.

It's appeal is that in most 6.5 guns it seems to shoot 0.75 MOA or better (mostly half MOA or better). That's nice for factory ammo that's possibly cheaper than the Hornady stuff. But ultimately a good reloader can likely make a rifle shoot better with hand loads.

I hand load but I'll be buying a case of 130 Prime 6.5 when it comes available again

Hope that helps you out

The Prime shoots very well in my Bergara BMP when the nut behind the scope does his part.

It’s No Bueno in my 18” frankenrifle Rifle AR10. No supprises since it’s loaded very hot for gas guns and I am too lazy to adjust my gas block down for one load and back up for the rest.

Not sure what happened above

I just doped prime 130s at 2855fps out to 1,100

I loaded up Berger 130s to run 2855 as well

They tracked nearly identical to my Berger 130s .287 G7 BC (like within 1/10 at 1,000)

I don’t use AB on my kestrel so not sure your options, I use Ballistics AE and choose the Berger 130s and plug in the the BC they printed on the prime box

Tag fresh painted steel and slightly tweak the BC so it lines up if needed.

Hope that makes sense with what you are looking for.

PM me if you need any data I have ran prime 130s in Creedmoor in four different guns. It all seems to run about 2850-2875 with 24-26 inch barrels
