I got all my parts fairly quickly for my AR10 build. It'll be awhile before my bank account recovers from this. Lucky for me my better half is understanding. I'm going to be eating baloney sandwiches for the foreseeable future though. Don't flame me for the 300.00 scope on a 3K gun, it's temporary and it tracks pretty straight. Good enough for barrel break-in and 100 yd load development.
Here's the build list,
-Ascend Armory 7075 Match Receiver Set
-JP Low Mass Bolt Carrier w/high pressure bolt
-JP Silent Capture Spring / buffer assembly
-Draco's 22" 6.5 Creedmoor barrel
-Elftman .308 Match Trigger
-Fortis 15" Switch Rail
-Magpul PRS Stock
I've only run one box of shells thru it. Cheapest stuff I could find. American Eagle 120gr open tip. For barrel break in I did a 1 shot and clean for the first 10 rounds followed by a 5 shots and a clean, then another 5 shots. The first 5 shot group I was really just checking function so I shot them pretty fast. Barrel doesn't heat up much like they claim. The last 5 shots I actually shot to see if it would group. Less than an inch at 100 yards. No fowling shot after the last clean so I was pretty happy with a sub-Moa group. I'm confident this will be a 1/2 MOA gun with the right ammo and better optic. This scope has a tiny eyebox and it's mounted really low. Getting a consistent site picture was a pain in the ass. The range was packed and it was hotter than hell too. I wouldn't say I was on my game either. Anyway, the gun sure looks wicked. The Fortis Switch rail wasn't my first choice. I wanted to put a CMT on it but they couldn't find the last one that was suppose to be in stock. The Fortis was priced almost 100.00 more so I let me send me that instead at the CMT price. I don't need a switch rail and this thing is very flexy even though it looks very nice. It'll be replaced soon. Also, I didn't try to adjust the gas block. I shot it at the factory setting. To be honest I wasn't sure how to since Draco's is terrible about publishing anything about how to adjust it. I finally googled it on here so now I have an idea how to adjust it. The gun ran without a hiccup but it does throw the brass forward at about 2 o'clock. Not sure if this is normal for a 6.5 chambered AR or not. Brass wasn't damaged in anyway. Overall I'm pretty pleased.
