I am an experienced reloader, but new to 6.5CM.

I have some once fired Lapua brass getting light rings about .25" up from the case head. I did the hook test inside case with nothing I can feel.
I have neck sized the cases so hopefully not over working the brass.
!47 eld is loaded mag length (accurate mag with binder) so nowhere close to lands
Load is IMR 4350 at 41.0 gr with Fed match small rifle primers
Redding deluxe dies

Weather is 85 F of so with 80%+ RH (this is summer in NW FL after all)

Remington 700, More Precision chassis, 24" bbl 1:8,

Hopefully, I have given all the needed info.

Thanks,

Any ideas?

They all look like that? Have you fired other brass through the rifle and did they have it if you did? Looks like something in the chambering like a scratch. Have seen it before like that.

Some marks are a little brighter than others. I am shooting a match on 7/1 and after that I'm gonna take the barrel off and check it. I cannot feel or see anything in the chamber. Barrel only has about 200 rnds on it so far. I've never had one do this before. I did a really good cleaning on the chamber itself and will shoot it again tomorrow.

Not only the ammo box, but your reloading trays. If you size with imperial sizing wax it'll get on your reloading trays and leave a ring like that.

Thanks for the help. I've been going nuts trying to figure it out. Very likely the boxes, as I have been riding it around in the truck a lot lately. I wouldn't have thought that could happen. But then again, you wouldn't think a running over a dead catfish could potentially could puncture a 10 ply 4wd tire, but they will so you just never know.

LOL. Most of my brass looks like that.... At least everything that rides in the truck a lot.
