I have a Rem 700 long action that I originally picked up for a 6.5-284 build that I didn't end up doing. Now I'm thinking id like to do a 6.5 Creedmoor. Any reason I shouldn't do this on the LA I already have? It would be a target rifle so I'm not worried about any extra weight. AICS magazine fed, hornady spec reamer.

Thanks!

I built one on a Savage action to deer hunt with and have been pleased. I am not sure what you might have to do to make the magzine feed properly in your setup. Mine is a blind mag, so it was no big deal.

If you use AICS 300WM mags you will likely need to close the feed lips up a touch, basically, do the same thing to them that you'd do if you were shooting a 30-06 parent case round.

If you have a blind mag and Rem feed lips for a 30-06 action already then there should not be any changes, I have run 260's out of long actions and the biggest issue that users need to remember is to run the bolt to the stop properly each time.

No advantage to using a long action with the 6.5 creedmoor. The 6.5 case is pretty short and works great from short actions. I would sell it and get a short action from brownells. If you must use the long action, Badger Ord. sells a long action m24 dbm that uses short action aics mags.

This, less bolt travel, will feed better & you can use the long action for some thing that need it 6.5-06

Yeah, 6.5-06 or the 6.5-284 that I was going to do would be cool. The only reason I was thinking about using the la is because it's available.
