Hello all,

I am looking for some loads that i might be able to try out in my new gun. Since ammo is scare I am going to reload with what ever I can find. Just wondering if anyone has built up some accurate loads especially out of the tikka. So far I have found h4350, rl17/26 for powders. I have always had good results with the hodgdon powder. If you have any info I am all ears. I am going to sight the gun in this weekend and hopefully burn up some rounds so I have brass to reload.

Mine likes Berger 130 AR hybrids. I’m using lapua SRP with fed205mAR. Loading to 2.2600 CBTO. COAL about 2.850. Best For me with H4350 was 42.4gr yielded 2612-2615 over 5 shots. No pressure signs and group size right at 1/2 moa. I’m working up N555 now. I’m doing a ladder from 43.4 to 44.2gr. at the range tomorrow to test. Will let you know how it goes.

I did but will need to pull my sheets and look at the velocities, I don't remember and been working on 338 loads.
Are you liking how the 20" tikka shoots? I am going suppressed for my first time and that is my set up. Wish I would have got the 338 can but that will be for a later date. The 338 if fun but wow it is nice to shoot a smaller caliber for once in my life. Im not used to no kick. :)

Is that on a 20" Tikka or what is your setup? Thanks for your reply it is always nice to see where people are getting pressure, grouping etc.

I also got a box of 130 bergers from wally's plan to shoot them i am sure they will be dead accurate. I am shooting suppressed for my first time. So i will shoot my lighter loads to sight then see how the heavier hunting loads do with the can and if there is a shift. Ideally i'd like to shoot 130-473 hornaday/berger/nosler etc. whatever perform best on paper and animals will get the pass. I love shooting targets but the gun was built for hunting.

Solid info are you shooting the 20" barrel as well? Sounds like we will all be exploring with powder and projectiles with this ammo scare or shortage. I'll have to look into the N555

I also have the 24" bbl CTR, and my favorite H-4350 load is 42.0 gr. under Hornady 147 ELD-M. Velocity for that load is 2700. Very accurate in the Tikka.
I have worked up a load with that bullet and Winchester StaBall 6.5 for my 20" gas gun, but haven't tested it yet in the Tikka. It's on my list for this Spring/warmer weather.

Wish I could have found some 140 or 147 eldms. Oh well hopefully the 123SMK does well.

Since Tikka barrels are already slow to begin with, and you have the 20" version, you may want to try the Alliant powders. Both the 17 and 26 will yield more velocity than the H4350. The 26 will be more temp stable while giving much higher MVs.

Okay so after a windy day at the range with only factory ammo.....it looks like the 147 eld-m's were shooting very well out past 500 yards. Buddy had some hand loads from unknown in 143 eld-x that were pretty good as well. The 140 elf-m's weren't bad either but the 147 was hammering. Still have to get them on paper out there hopefully this weekend. So once I get loading I think I am going to look for some 147's too. Thanks for all the input guys really appreciate it!!

I wish you luck. I've been searching for the elusive 147 gr. ELD-M's for awhile. Projectilus Unicornus. Hoping Hornady will drop an enormous load of them on the market soon. Hoping.

Found some 147's going to work up a load. Found a page from the new manual says 40.3 grains of h4350 is max? Either way I will work up and see what happens hopefully i can push it and get some more speed.

6.5cm tikka ctr 20"
lapua lrp
fed 210m
h4350
147 eldm

hopefully get some test loads started run up to max and do 0.10 charges up until I get signs of pressure. If anyone has other info please feel free to chime in. I know fxrider and b_w got 41.5-42gr which I hope I can get to as well. I was only able to get up to 41.6grains with my 143 eldx's. And 41.4 shot lights outs. 41.2 shot well too so hopefully i can get there with the 147's

Not a Tikka ctr but I have a Ruger American Talo edition in 6.5 creedmoor that shoots lights out with 107 grain Sierra TMK over 41.5 grains of Varget. 18 inch barrel and MV of 2950 fps. Thats 3 at 100 yards. Killed an 8 pt this yr at about 85 yards, he dropped in his tracks.

Looks like a great shooter. However, did you mean 6 Creedmoor. Or are you just shooting light bullets out of a 6.5?

I’ve got a new 20” CTR 6.5 Creedmoor and got an accurate load 130 Berger AR Hybrid 2658 FPS SD 7 ES18. H4350 41.8 grains.

2658 FPS for a 130 grain bullet in 6.5 Creedmoor is slow but with a low SD and ES, I’ll take it.

You should be able to get a decent amount more out of that. My 20” is putting out 147’s low 2600’s
