Hey Everyone,

I am considering rebarreling one of my savages to 6.5 creedmoor but im not exactly sure what I should do to get brass.

I could buy the reloading supplies needed for 250-300 rounds(not including dies) for the same price as 260-300 rounds of loaded factory ammo.

What should I do? I would normally just buy supplies and start reloading (what I did with my .223) but the 6.5 brass is kinda expensive and the factory ammo is relatively cheap and of good quality so im thinking of buying factory ammo and then saving the brass.

What are your thoughts?

Re: 6.5 Creedmoor Reloading vs Factory

I was in the same boat and went with factory. The only problem I faced was Hornady uses H4350, and each lot of H4350 may or may not be the same which might give you a different velocity even using the same charge weight. This isn't Hornady's fault, just the unreliability of H4350. Just something to be aware of. So when/if you buy factory, purchase the same lot, if not rechrono the new lot to verify. I have since gone with reloading my own, hope that helps.
