After a couple days of searching the WWW, I dont know a whole ot more than before I started.
I'm not quit certain what barrel length and thought Id let velocity partially make my decision.
Going with a 8 twist proof barrel, not sure about length but torn a bit between 22" and 24". Not completely certain if Ill run 130's or 140's, again depending on what I learn on velocities. Weapon WILL be suppressed and used for hunting at generally medium to longer ranges, 500 - 1000 could be encountered here in Nevada.
Can anyone help me out on their findings, please include your bullet type, weight and barrel length?
    Thanks all. Dave

JP 22" barrel 41.3 grain H4350 in Hornady brass using a 140 ELD gave me 2667 last time out, I've been running that load for a year and it's consistent. I don't recall the exact velocity of my 130 Berger AR Hybrid's but IIRC, it was at or near the 2740's using 43.1 grains H4350. I can push them both faster but consistency on targets drop.

Thank you! Darn near mirroring Padoms.
Ever jump up to RL26 for a try?

My JP 22" shoots Hornady 140 ELD about 2680. Had some pressure issues with the last lot I used, was seeing over 2720 with 4 blown primers in one box. 3 in another from the same lot.

I'm running a .260Rem, but the velocities should be pretty similar. Out of my 22" 1-8 I've pushed the Berger 130 Hybrids up to 2880 with Reloder 16 without pressure. Hit 2910 with 123 Nosler CC and Reloder 16, but that load resulted in loose primer pockets. Nosler 140 CC and IMR 4451 got me 2780 with no pressure.

I think the gas system length will be more critical than barrel length. Make sure you get a +2 system if you have any plans on keeping and reloading your brass. Mid/Intermediate/Rifle length gas systems beat the brass up pretty good.

If you're in Vegas and want to play around with my rifle let me know.
