I am looking to order a reamer so that factory 143 eld-x touches the lands. From what I have read the old .130" freebore made it so factory ammo was a .012" jam. That would make it so .142" should be touching. Can anyone confirm or deny this before I put this on order.

Also by shorting the freebore to .142" from the SAAMi .188" this should still be fine to shoot this SAAMI spec factory ammo in right?

Thanks

I finally managed to get my loading bench unpacked from the move and found most of my tools. I will measure my MPA chambered PRC and let you know what my freebore is - it was measured when I got it, but my notes are nowhere to be found at this point.

FWIW - I am getting the advertised .4 MOA out of it at 100, and it holds .5 moa at 750 (3.5" group, mostly horizontal spread) Factory 147 ELD and my reloads at the same 2.955 COAL. I will also get the ogive measurements on the ammo.

Were it me, and specing my own custom chamber, I would start with your mag length load and set the leads to touch at that point so you can at least increase the jump if you have to. You can also come back in and ream it out a little more if you need to. Easier than shortening the freebore.
